- 森と記録の音楽

“With a “clara” in hand (a cocktail of beer and Fanta lemon), I took refuge from the sun under the SonarDome tent. But upon entering, I found myself in a completely different world. Amidst exotic birds and gentle breezes, a pretty Asian boy was playing a most symphonic melody on his electric guitar, which he layered with samples and effects. It was sonicbrat from Singapore, one of Red Bull Music Academy’s most recent alumni. And though his next tunes showed a clear rock influence, they nevertheless evoked the peaceful feeling of Japanese gardens. And just when we were all fully immersed in the harmonious scenery of the Far East, he surprised us with an upbeat dance track, whose oriental drums and wicked beats, brought us back to Sonar.
So far as he painted beautiful imagery through sound, sonicbrat’s performance could easily qualify as visual music – one of Sonar’s themes this year…” 365MAG, International Music Magazine; Sonar 2009
